MFA Alum Heather Lang’s Anthology Featured in the Las Vegas Review Journal

Witness off-duty Elvis, Miss Atomic at home & words as trapeze artists. Explore ghosts in the ecotone, hasty breakups & why reproduction has so many o’s. Discover the saltshaker that’s buried in the microwave, a sci-fi spacesuit’s metallic silver & that desert bone. Edited & introduced by Heather Lang, this anthology features remarkable literature by some of today’s most talented Nevada writers.

FDU MFA alum Heather Lang was recently awarded a Nevada Arts Council jackpot grant to curate an anthology of literature by Nevadans, focusing on writers who are both brilliant in their craft and give back to their literary communities. The project quickly gained attention in Nevada and beyond. Read the book’s latest press at the Las Vegas Review Journal, an article which ran online and was featured on the front of the RJ’s “Life” section.

This year Heather Lang was voted Las Vegas’ Best Local Writer or Poet by the readers of KNPR’s Desert Companion. Heather holds an MFA in Poetry and a graduate certificate in Literary Translation from FDU, and her poetry and prose have been published by or are forthcoming with The Normal School, Pleiades, and Whiskey Island, among many others. Last year Heather was twice interviewed about her poetry on Nevada Public Radio, and her writing process was on exhibit at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery. Heather teaches literature and composition part time at Nevada State College, and she serves as a World Literature Editor with The Literary Review. www.heatherlang.cassera.net
