FDU MFA Faculty Thomas E. Kennedy’s Novel To Appear In Danish (& Other Tom Kennedy News)

Kennedy just signed a contract for the first novel of his Copenhagen Quartet (In the Company of Angels — “I selskab med engle”) to appear in the Danish this November with the literary-micro-publisher, Rod&Co (a Danish publisher of Czeslaw Milosz, Peter Handke, Andrei Bitov and Mario Levi). The remaining three Copenhagen novels have been optioned. The second (Falling Sideways — “Skæv dans”) will appear in March 2016.

Kennedy’s translation of Morten Seifert’s short story, “God, Is It You Playing Sax”) has just been accepted in New Letters, which will also publish in its fall issue the essay adapted from his FDU lecture about Herman Melville’s “Bartleby the Scrivener.”

An interview with Kennedy by Professor Greg Herriges will also appear in the fall issue of South Carolina Review. Also appearing in that issue of SCR will be Kennedy’s essay on John Cheever’s “The Swimmer.”
