Hello Alums!

Please save the dates for our upcoming alum days at the August residency, August 7, 8, and 9 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). We hope that many of you will be able to join us! This is going to be a spectacular residency, and we look forward to reconnecting with many of you.

We are still working to finalize the schedule of events, but here’s a general description of what’s planned. Thursday afternoon, there will be a special reception for alums, faculty, and current students, followed by a dinner. Friday and Saturday, there will be a  number of alum events, including a generative workshop led by a faculty member, workshops led by alums, readings by alums, and an important organizational meeting.

Since some of you may be traveling here from a distance and need to make travel plans, check- in for the dorms on Thursday 8/7 will be between Noon and 2pm. If you are coming in on Friday or Saturday check-in will be during working hours 9:30-4:30pm. You are welcome to stay one, two, or all three nights.

For those of you in the area, Wednesday night, August 6, in Brooklyn, at BookCourt bookstore, there will be a reading featuring four of our faculty who have recently published books (Tom Kennedy, David Grand, Jeff Allen, and Harvey Hix). You are welcome, of course, to join us in Brooklyn for that event although transportation will not be provided.

There will be a number of rooms available in the dorms, which you will have the opportunity to reserve, or you may wish to stay in one of the local hotels. The cost for attending alum days will be $75.00 per day, to cover the costs of attendance, whether or not you choose to stay in the dorms or join us for meals. Please let us know if you have any questions. A full schedule of events (times and dates) and a form to reserve your place will be sent to you by mid-June.

I hope that everyone’s writing is going well, and I look forward to hearing all of your news.

All best,

Rene
