A review in the Minneapolis Star Tribune of Susan Minot‘s Thirty Girls, a novel about a somewhat lost and privileged western woman traveling to (and through) Africa to tell the story of Ugandan girls abducted by soldiers, focusing on one girl, Esther, whose voice, beautifully rendered, is the heart and soul of the book.
