Fairleigh Dickinson University MFA Creative Writing faculty Rebecca Chace’s piece, “The Scale of the Beast,” is a feature article from the LARB Quarterly Journal: Winter 2016 edition. Rebecca writes:Jumbo-243x366

It was his fourth season with The Greatest Show on Earth, and he was out for his daily exercise along the train tracks when an unscheduled freight train came around the bend. Jumbo couldn’t scramble away fast enough.
